The role

You will oversee the Data Science and Analytics team. Your insights will help us understand how our product features are being adopted, and how they may evolve. You will work as a partner to our Product, Engineering and Operations teams to collectively form and implement strategies for our products.

Through your research you will help to uncover gaps in our process workflows and constantly improve the system for our users. You will also oversee the development and maintenance of our data pipelines.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development of custom data models and algorithms to apply to datasets and help the team gain insights from data analysis.
  • Help to design and develop highly scalable pipelines for data ingestion and processing
  • Manage the automation and handling of the lifecycle of data sets
  • Have an excellent understanding of business models and processes
  • Assist the data team in identifying recurring problems that could be augmented with data science or engineering
  • Implement and manage machine learning algorithms in a robust, scalable manner
  • Oversee the generation, storage, and usage of data from a variety of data sources
  • Provide transparency into our data flows
  • Use predictive modeling to improve our lending processes and to help understand our customers better.
  • Apply statistical techniques to understand financial data.
  • Work with business stakeholders to help define requirements.
  • Collaborate with development team to integrate models into product workflows.
Your qualifications
  • 8+ years experience in analytics or related fields.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or similar field.
  • Have an excellent understanding of SQL.
  • Proficient in one or more data programming languages (Python, R, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Previous experience leading a data science or data engineering team
  • Great communication and collaboration skills working with other developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced tech development environment
Nice to haves
  • Experience with consumer facing technology
  • Experience in software development or finance industries.
  • Experience creating RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Django, Falcon, or Flask.
  • Experience with AWS and Docker containers.
  • Multivariate regression analysis (linear and logistic), supervised learning algorithms
  • Unsupervised learning algorithms
